City to Tighten Health Protocols Implementation in Market and KRL

Jakarta Government officially extended the first phase of Transitional Large-scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) until the next 14 days. During the extension period, Jakarta Government will cooperate with related parties to monitor and tighten health protocols implementation in two main areas with high potential in spreading COVID-19, namely markets and electric railroad (KRL).

He informed, there are 153 markets managed by Perumda Pasar Jaya and around 150 community-based markets outside of Perumda Pasar Jaya which operate in Jakarta. Thus in total it reaches 303 markets that will be closely monitored.

"Besides, market's operating hour will be returned to normal and odd-even policy for traders will be removed. But we will control number of visitors in the market not to exceed 50 percent of market's capacity. It will be managed by officers at the market's entrance," he explained.
Meanwhile for KRL, his side will cooperate with TNI-Police and PT. Kereta Commuter Indonesia (KCI) to prepare a scheme to monitor and control the KRL users.
"In general, all ranks from TNI, police, and Jakarta Government will cooperate with KCI to monitor the KRL passengers arrangement in the train. So, the conclusion of the meeting is to extend (Phase 1 Transitional PSBB) for 14 days and strictly control 2 areas (market and KRL)," he closed.
